Book/Diary: The Diary of a Young Girl

Entry One:
Thursday 24th of April, 2014

I have just started reading the diary which Anne Frank as written. (Not 'Version A', but 'Version B' translated into English)

Firstly, before I say anything about the diary, I would like to talk about my first thoughts on the diary before I've read it. I believe Anne Frank (the owner of the diary) is a very brave young girl, she had the courage to write about something that most wouldn't even dare talk about, as it would have been extremely dangerous. Recording things such as what has happened to her during times of war is also rather rare in those times because Anne Frank's is one of the only diaries/first hand information people have published.

As I was reading Anne Frank's diary, I felt a rather sudden wave of disbelief... well, not really disbelief but similar. So basically, when I read about her moving into her father's office, I was rather surprised. Wouldn't they (city council) have plans of the building (a.k.a. her father's office) and from that won't they be able to find them? So I believe their family took a great risk.

I was wondering, why is Anne Frank so confident that Peter likes her and why does she talk about relationships so much in her diary at the beginning? Is that how a 13 year old thought back then?
